Misplaced Amor

Salutations offered outside the Manhattan Terrace,
Exchanging digits; the pair seemed to have a fondness for one another,
however; fairytale infatuation assassinated,
her boss intercepts Cupid’s attempts at,
brewing another endearing story for the legends,
labours love lamp loses love-lilies lustrous light,
and as the plight thickened; her boss coaxed her with a cheeky smile near the doorway;
approaching the stairs of flight,
she made one glance back,
and as if a look could tell a thousand words,
the lover, chauffeured by anxiety attacks,
deleted her contact from his cell,
dwelling on the spell not yet lifted,  

his heart remained tattered like an old exterior of a scorpion shell,
hells embers spark matches to cigarettes,
treading on,
repeatedly pondering upon,
the wondrous bounties of love being bought off by lustreless yuan.
